New short story in the works.

I am currently working on a short story on what it is like to be bullied by a family member.   I am hoping this story will help others who are being bullied.  I have named the story; My Sister the Bully.  It is listed under the short stories column.  I have written the prologue and chapter one.  I am excited about this story and welcome feedback.
My Sister the Bully

Thought I would Introduce Myself

I didn't discover the joy of writing until I entered the 8th grade and I was required to write a poem.  I have never written a poem before and had no clue on how I should go about it.  After a while, I just sat down and started writing.  My English class got a kick out of my poem, and I was pleased with how it turned out.  I wrote a little bit more in high school, branching out in stories, but I didn't find my passion for writing until my grandpa passed away 15 years ago.  I had all of these feelings just dwelling down inside of me and I had no clue how to deal with them, so I picked up and pen and started writing everything down.  I found it to be very therapeutic, and continued to write.  I chose to write poems and fan fiction, it gave me an outlet and kept me sane.  Yes there were very sad storied and poems at the time, but it helped get those feelings out.  I even wrote a poem for my grandpa that I read at his funeral.

I have since then continued to write.  I have sent poems off to contests and have had them published.  I have won awards at the county level for both poems and short stories.  That is a huge accomplishment for me and I'm very happy about that.  I am branching out in writing children's picture books, based on the things that my son has done.  I'm currently polishing them up and will hopefully be sending them off to find a publisher/agent.  I am excited for this next step in my life.

I have a wonderful husband and I have been married for 13 years.  We have one very awesome little boy, who is home-schooled.  I love to write, take photos, go camping, hiking, travel, read, and of course spend time with my little family.
